Hand Drawn Records is pleased to announce the newest member to the HDR Family, Brandon Callies Band (Austin, TX), and our partnership for their third release; the introspective alt-folk offering Life is Still Good – EP. Slated for May 2013 the issue will be limited edition in nature – only 300 – 10″ vinyl records will be produced.

ABOUT BRANDON CALLIES BAND

The third release for Austin, TX alt-folk act Brandon Callies Band is the culmination of a whirlwind studio experiment in which namesake Brandon Callies tracked the Life is Still Good – EP unaccompanied before offering the balance of the material to his bandmates. The isolated nature of the recording process endorses itself throughout the final product.

Balanced thematically between darkness and light the extended-play amalgamates electric and acoustic instruments with an experimental take on the singer-songwriter genre. Tales of pain blend effortlessly to tributes of good fortune as the veteran singer cleverly tramps the intersections of desolation and prospect.
