“Cancer Jam” Benefit Concert at the Courtyard Theater on September 11
Performers announced for Cancer Jam 2015. Tickets live now at prekindle.com.
Hand Drawn Records is extremely proud to announce we are returning to present Cancer Jam for a second-straight year. This time it is a very personal affair, as our label's co-founder Dustin Blocker's mother, Linda Blocker has been diagnosed with—and is battling—stage four breast, lymphatic and bone cancer. We have been talking about our music community and "familial" approach to working with artists since our label’s inception. At this year's Cancer Jam, the performances will be taking that philosophy to a very literal level. Our Cancer Jam 2015 performers will be comprised of Hand Drawn artists, good friends of the label and the actual family members of the honoree, Linda Blocker. Each artist will be stepping into the spotlight as a solo singer; backed by an incredible soul-revival house band, performing a song picked exclusively for the event by Linda, who herself, has been a storied singer for over 60 years. We believe that music in itself is healing, and on September 11th, 2015, we aim to celebrate the life of Linda Blocker with the music she loves the most. We hope you will join us.PERFORMERS: CANCER JAM 2015
